A special scent detection dog seminar with Prof. Jens Frank from the Swedish Working Dog Institute will take place in Ennepetal from August 21 to 23, 2026. The seminar is aimed at anyone wishing to gain in-depth knowledge of the development and training of scent detection dogs.
For the IGP Youngstars Academy, two free places for Youngstars up to 25 years of age are available at this seminar. Interested individuals can apply by briefly explaining their interest in the seminar and why they would like to participate.
The seminar focuses on practical aspects of detection dog work. Topics covered include the systematic training of detection dogs, indication behavior, search behavior, reinforcement, punishment, and the use of laser directional cues. The seminar thus offers an exciting opportunity to gain deeper insights into modern detection dog training and to take away valuable ideas for working with your own dog.
